Where to go: Louis Vuitton Unveils Historic Revival at Via Montenapoleone
As Milan Design Week 2025 sets the city alight with creativity, Louis Vuitton proudly announces the reopening of its historic flagship location on Via Montenapoleone. This iconic address now ushers in a new era of luxury, with its second floor entirely dedicated to the Louis Vuitton Home Collections, a first for the brand.
The space showcases the five pillars of Louis Vuitton’s Home Collections, offering a glimpse into the artistry and craftsmanship that define the house. Among the highlights is the ‘Signature Collection’, a completely new launch unveiled during Milan Design Week. The ‘Objets Nomades’ collection, renowned for its exquisite travel-inspired designs, now enjoys a permanent sales space. Adding warmth and texture, the Decoration line features textiles and cushions, while a dedicated corner celebrates Exceptional Games, presenting luxurious interpretations of table football, card tables, backgammon, and chessboards. Finally, the ‘Art de la Table collection’ immerses visitors in a re-creation of the historic dining room at Asnières (1892), connecting clients with the intimate legacy of the Vuitton family.
In tandem with the expansion of Louis Vuitton’s interior design universe, the brand also introduces a unique culinary offering: ‘Da Vittorio Café Louis Vuitton’ and ‘Da Vittorio Restaurants’. Recognising that luxury today extends beyond garments and accessories, the addition transforms shopping into a multidimensional experience, a vital touchpoint in a city where design and trends reign supreme.
Da Vittorio Café Louis Vuitton: Where Gastronomy Meets Design
Located in the central courtyard of Palazzo Taverna, Da Vittorio Café creates an enchanting retreat in the heart of Milan. Guests are greeted by a railing and colonnade that frame the entrance from Via Montenapoleone, or alternatively, through the atrium of the store. The courtyard, evocative of a countryside villa, is enclosed by a glass ceiling inspired by an archival Cecil Beaton photograph. Below, the flooring, crafted in gradated hues from white to black brings to life a stunning design by Martin Kline.
The meticulous restoration of the walls reveals original arches, enhanced to amplify depth and perspective. Locally crafted furniture and hand-painted textiles reflect Lombardy’s rich artisanal tradition, while lush greenery curated by Milanese landscape architect Marco Bay lends a natural elegance. A symphony of asparagus ferns, Cyathea Cooperi, and potted laurels introduce privacy and whimsy, while Alexander palms rise majestically under the portico. Custom green terracotta vases complete the verdant aesthetic, harmonizing with the café’s chic yet welcoming ambiance.
With this visionary reopening, Louis Vuitton redefines luxury retail, seamlessly blending design, heritage, and experiential sophistication. Whether exploring the home collections or indulging in the café's serene atmosphere, visitors are invited to discover the epitome of Milanese elegance.
