Louis Vuitton Celebrates Takashi Murakami at Art Basel Hong Kong.
From March 28th to 30th, Art Basel Hong Kong becomes the stage for a spectacular showcase by Louis Vuitton, spotlighting the exceptional works of renowned Japanese artist Takashi Murakami. A master of revolutionary aesthetics, Murakami’s creations bring bold imagination and cultural depth to this exclusive presentation curated for the event.
The experience unfolds within an exuberant booth designed to resemble a giant metallic Louis Vuitton trunk, lined with striking acid-green fabric. Visitors are greeted by a pair of large-scale statues, Zoucho-kun and Tamon-kun (2003), alongside the enigmatic *Superflat Jellyfish Eyes 1* screen (2003), all of which were previously exhibited as part of the Fondation Louis Vuitton Collection in 2018.
The artistic journey continues with a curated selection of Murakami’s audacious works. From captivating sculptures and intricate prints to textile artistry, the booth immerses visitors in the many facets of Murakami’s creative genius. A cycle of his video works awaits in the booth’s “secret” screening room, offering yet another layer to this dynamic exploration.
Significant pieces from Murakami’s collaboration with Louis Vuitton are also on display, celebrating the synergy between fashion and art. Highlights include creations from the *Louis Vuitton Murakami 2025 re-edition collection*, as well as iconic treasures from Louis Vuitton’s Heritage Collection: the Monogram Multicolore Marilyn Trunk (2003) and Monogramouflage (2008), a groundbreaking pattern blending camouflage and Louis Vuitton’s timeless monogram canvas, seen both in large-scale artworks and on the classic Keepall bag.
This presentation not only honours Murakami’s extraordinary vision but also reaffirms Louis Vuitton’s century-long dedication to the arts—a legacy established by Gaston-Louis Vuitton, the founder’s grandson, who pioneered collaborations with artists.
As visitors step into this vibrant universe at Art Basel Hong Kong, they experience the profound connection between innovation, heritage, and artistry that defines Louis Vuitton.
